Boiler Servicing Specialists

At Diamond Heating and Plumbing Ltd, we are often asked why boiler servicing is so important. On average, your boiler is one of the most expensive appliances in your home. It is working away in the background, providing hot water in the summer, and hot water and central heating in the winter. As long as it doesn’t break down, most people rarely give it a second thought. However, when it does break down, certainly in my house, all hell breaks loose!

Quite apart from the inconvenience, it’s an expense that most people could do without. A regular boiler service will not only reduce the risk of costly breakdowns, but it will also ensure your boiler is working at optimal safety and efficiency.

To get your boiler serviced by one of our Gas Safe Registered engineers, at a time to suit you, give our friendly team a call today.

Why Service Your Boiler

When our engineers are called to a boiler service for the first time, their first job is always to ensure the boiler is installed properly and complies with all current safety standards. We are currently finding that around 40% of the boilers we are called to service require some form of minor upgrade, to bring them in line with current regulations. This can include putting retaining screws in the flue joints or replacing an oversized boiler power supply fuse.

In more serious cases, we have found inadequate flue support, which can cause the flue to come apart, allowing potentially dangerous gasses into the home. In one case, in particular, the flue had not been correctly fitted during the boiler installation, and not only had it been letting by-products of combustion into the home, but it had also started to corrode the case itself. Had it been left much longer, the customer would have needed a new boiler and it was only 2 years old at the time.

It’s important to note that if your boiler is still within its warranty period, all manufacturers require an annual boiler service to continue to validate your warranty. When we service your boiler, you will be sent a service record detailing what work was carried out, and you will receive a service reminder email the following year.

So, as you can see, there are lots of reasons to get your boiler serviced annually. Give our team a call to book your service.
