Power Flushing Installations and Repairs

A power flush is a process used to clean contamination such as sludge, rust and debris from a central heating system.

These deposits can restrict circulation and contribute to poor heating performance and, in some cases, premature component failure.

Specialist equipment is used to circulate cleaning chemicals and water through the heating system to remove as much contamination as reasonably possible.

Possible signs include:

- Radiators that are cold at the bottom

- Some radiators heating much more slowly than others

- Dirty or discoloured radiator water

- Noisy radiators or boiler

- Poor circulation

- Heating taking a long time to warm up

- Repeated circulation-related problems

However, these symptoms don't automatically mean you need a power flush. We recommend diagnosing the problem first.

It depends on what's causing them to be cold.

If poor circulation is caused by sludge and contamination, cleaning the system may make a significant difference.

However, cold radiators can have other causes, including balancing problems, valves and system design issues.

We'd rather identify the cause first than sell you a power flush you don't need.

Not every heating system requires the same cleaning process.

What matters is that the existing system is sufficiently clean and suitably protected before a new boiler is commissioned.
